A high-tech industry that needs new skills

Technical textiles are used in health, aerospace, defence, automotive, agriculture and many other critical sectors. Their production brings together materials science, process engineering, digital technologies and sustainability, and the demand for these combined skills is growing faster than current education and training can meet.

TEXTILE COMPASS is a European Alliance for Innovation, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, that brings together universities, vocational education providers, research centres and industry to define the skills the sector needs, design new training and make technical textiles a more attractive career path.
