This document comprises the first version of the THESEUS sorting line developments. It builds directly on the requirements analysis and conceptual designs reported in D4.1 “Technologies Requirements” and presents the first transition from a requirement-driven conceptualization to an implementation-driven validation. The purpose of the deliverable is to document the preliminary development status of the sorting lines and to assess their readiness towards Technology Readiness Level 5 (TRL5), based on module-level, sub-system-level, and preliminary integrated validation activities
