PROPLANET Deliverable D6.6 [M12]: Health and safety conditions for enhanced safe and sustainable coatings supporting the planet

Deliverable D6.6 Health & safety conditions of PROPLANET addresses considerations related to the human health and safety of the coatings developed within the project. It is connected to task T6.5 Health and Safety Issues, which aims at avoiding exploitation problems of the products in terms of their safety, also in view of the standard regulations.

Within this task, a mapping of the regulatory framework and requirements is performed, individuating the legislations and standards which are relevant for the health and safety aspects of the materials developed within the project (Chapter 2). A strategy for hazard and safety assessment of the developed materials is also drawn in Chapter 3. This includes i) the collection and review of the human safety and toxicological data and information already available for the chemical compounds selected to be used in the formulations, and ii) in vitro testing of the formulations (chemical mixtures). The approaches used for these activities are described here. This is the first version of the deliverable, which will have updates in each year of the project, to allow the constant overview of the health and safety aspects of the materials along their development within the project’s life.
