PFAS-FREE FUTURE - Safe & Sustainable Alternatives for Packaging & Textile

ZeroF final event: 12 European partners showcase PFAS-free innovations, research insights & pathways for policy and industry adoption.

The ZeroF project, a collaboration of 12 European partners funded by the EU and SERI, is holding its final event in Barcelona on 20 November to present three years of research on safe and sustainable PFAS-free alternatives for food packaging and upholstery textiles.

The event will present ZeroF’s final results on PFAS-free coatings for food packaging and textiles. The team developed modified cellulose for packaging and Ormocer® coatings by Fraunhofer for textiles, both adjusted to meet performance requirements for water and oil resistance. Attendees will hear about lessons learned, practical solutions, and the latest insights on safety, sustainability, and consumer acceptance. Don’t miss the chance to explore these innovations and learn how they can be applied in industry.

Researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders will come together to discuss regulations, market opportunities, and strategies to accelerate the transition to PFAS-free products. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of ZeroF’s achievements, actionable insights, and next steps for implementing PFAS-free technologies across Europe.
